It is one of the major tourist attractions between Niagara Fall and Toronto. More than 1,100 species of plants grow within the 980 hectares of nature sanctuary. The Art Gallery of Burlington opened in 1978 as a venue to develop dedicated studios for photography, hand weaving and spinning, sculpture and woodcarving, ceramics, fine arts, and hooking craft for regional artists.
